Inspiration... On the fly...

MD style Blue Crab cakes with a Ginger Cumin Carrot puree. Celery root mashers and rustic roasted veggies... 

For snacks today a roasted beet egg salad and herb lamb chop crostini's. Flavor flavor flavor!

Another Veggie Day

I need to find more options besides making cakes for veggie day. Today we did white bean cakes but baked it like a frittata. Then cut them into rectangular steaks. Against the grilled romas and romaine it looked great! A sweet mango sauce to offset the earthy cakes was just what this dish needed.

Ode to Spaetzle...

Today I tried to make spaetzle for the first time. First batch didn't come out right. The dough was dense and much to elastic from being over worked. It sucked pretty bad actually.
But with the guidance of Chef Donnie Thompson I was able to make this light egg pasta that hopefully everyone enjoyed. I will find the inner German in me!!! Spaetzle!

Veggie day


Veggie Day !! Today Herb Tomato Coconut Sauce with rosemary red bliss medallions, cauliflower couscous, white bean cakes and avocado salsa.

Just because you decide to go vegetarian doesn't mean you can't have a well balanced, full with flavor meal!

Have you ever had Yellow Doll Watermelon before? It is sweet and juicy and great source in vitamins A & C ( hope you don't mind the seeds!)
